Scientific & Ethics Review
Conduct independent, competent, and timely reviews of the ethical and scientific merits of research proposals.
Ensure all research protocols comply with the Science, Technology, and Innovation Act (2013) and NACOSTI guidelines.
Provide ongoing oversight of approved research projects to ensure continued adherence to ethical standards.
Evaluate the potential risks and benefits to research participants, ensuring that risks are minimized and justified.
Verify that informed consent processes are transparent, documented, and culturally appropriate.
Advise the University management on policies related to research ethics and scientific integrity.
Address ethical dilemmas and concerns raised by researchers, participants, or the public regarding TMU-affiliated research.
